Hi there

When a car like ours has DAB fitted from factory...is the actual DAB unit a part of the headunit or is it a seperate box in the car somewhere..?? My reason for asking is we are thinking of changing our RCD-510 unit for the RNS-510 satnav...

Anything to look out for when buying a RNS-510...i gather the version B is the better one to get...?

Thanx
Ken

On the VW Germany site they list two diffent RCD510s, with & without DAB. Gives the impression its part of the RCD510.

It's built in to the head unit mate. Theres a Dab button top right . I think you lose a traffic info function.

OK...

Just wanted to confirm were the DAB part of the stereo was......that means if we fit an RNS we will loose the DAB....not that we get reception very often....

In the UK Scirocco options list there is a footnote stating DAB and RNS510 cannot be specified together.

Looking at the German website, the RNS510 isn't supplied with DAB. http://www.volkswagen-zubehoer.de/shop/ ... tml&page=2" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

This thread appears to confirm no DAB option. http://vwnavi.com/forums/showthread.php ... hlight=dab" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
