Hi can anyone tell me about premium diesel , collecting my 170 TDI on Friday will it run on normal diesel ok or would it be better on premium

I have the 170 diesel and have no problems whatsoever with it running on normal diesel, having said that I have never tried premium diesel (it is hard to find where I live). Not sure if it would be better or not, but I can say I am 100% happy with my engine running on normal

As long as you avoid the Supermarket cack, you'll be fine with normal diesel.

hi thanks now got my car and it goes like the wind, got the workshop forman out at my dealer he recons the if you can get it use it, it is better for the engine is a cleaner burn and more power, like you say you have to find some where that sells it,

Yea he's to totally right it should give you slightly more power and is better for your engine though it is slightly more expensive. I wouldnt run my GTI on anything else but Ultimate or Super unleaded and when the Rocco arrives it'll be the same. BP do the Ultimate diesel if you have 1 of them near you, I always make a point if I'm past 1 to fill up
