Dash dials?

Hi. Could someone please let me know what the analogue speedo says at an arbitrary speed (eg, 40mph in 5th gear), this is a DSG Car.

I’m sure my imported cars dials are not correct.

Thanks in advance

At 40mph in 5th on a DSG it should read around 40mph on the speedo obviously, but if it was imported it might be showing km/h instead of mph which would explain why it looks off.

Cheers for that. I probably didn't explain myself very well.

The dials have been replaced, but i am thinking the actual needle wasn't refitted correctly. I know some cars over read compared with GPS.
But i've currently got 3 different speeds at the same time.

I'm confused What are the 3 different speeds you are seeing?

Speedo (analogue), speedo cluster (digital) and GPS.

Ah OK, I've just realised I do have a digital speed reading, but it's in km/h. Using the cruise control settings on mine, I've done a quick comparison:

Cruise control set to 30 mph, analogue speedo reads 30 mph, Google Maps reads 28 mph
Cruise control set to 40 mph, analogue speedo reads 40 mph, Google Maps reads 37/38 mph
Cruise control set to 50 mph, analogue speedo reads 50 mph, Google Maps reads 47/48 mph
Cruise control set to 60 mph, analogue speedo reads 60 mph, Google Maps reads 57 mph

This suggests the speedo is over-reading by around 5-6%, this with brand new 205/50R17 tyres. Worn down to 1.6 mm tread, you'd probably be getting an over-read of 7-8%

Cheers. That's what I'd be expecting to be seeing. My digital readout seems to match your Analogue. So I will adjust my analogue needle to match.

Thanks for the help

Analogue speedo needle adjusted to match the digital speedo now. Will double check on my commute home.
