Problems with activate the foglights
Hello there
I want to activate the foglights instead of the org. driving lights. But no go.
Where is the problem?
VCDS can't do it.
I tried to mark it in VCDS but still no go. I can change the cornor light to the foglights and make American driving lights.

Re: Problems with activate the foglights
Why would you want to have the fogs on? As they're not dipped, it is illegal to drive with these on when there is no fog - you'll just dazzle everyone.

Re: Problems with activate the foglights
I dislike people having fogs on in good visibility also, you see all the charvas doing it in their 1.2 corsas to show they got the "sport" model.
It's right up there with people who don't thank you when you go out of your way to let them in from a side road etc.

Re: Problems with activate the foglights
ive removed my fogs and im trying to turn them off with a few difficulties, let me know if you manage it
Re: Problems with activate the foglights
The fogs dont come on until you pull the switch?
Might be easier to remove the swuithc and fit one for a base model that didnt have fogs, so its only got the rear position on the switch?

i know that mate, im trying to turn them off in vag com to prevent the warning light coming on
Re: Problems with activate the foglights
Ah, so its throwing a warning light without even pulling the switch?
Sure i've seen the setting to tell the car if it has front fogs installed in one of the screens. Cant remeber which module off hand though.

it thinks the bulb is out, its not tho, its just not there
Re: Problems with activate the foglights
You could trick it, bridge the pins with a resistor. . . .
I'm gonna throw vag-com on the car later anyway for some other stuff, i'll see if i can find the option to tell the car its a peasant spec model

Re: Problems with activate the foglights
People who have their front fogs on should be publicly beaten with a stick (one of those big sticks with branch nobbles). I am serious - *rant* - arrogant selfish t*ats with no idea how dangerous / distracting it can be for oncoming vehicles. Also people who don't dip their main beams enough!! remove their licenses from their wallets and insert them width way somewhere else. Sigh. *end rant*

So I'm taking it that you don't really have any strong feelings either way on this ReubenGT, lolReubenGT wrote:People who have their front fogs on should be publicly beaten with a stick (one of those big sticks with branch nobbles). Re: Problems with activate the foglights
It is leagel to drive with only the foglights on here in Denmark, if you use them as driving lights!
By the way, I didn't ask for comments about you opinion!

Re: Problems with activate the foglights
Might be an idea to put where your from in your signature mate to save any misunderstandings. It's a common hate here in Britain for people to drive with their fogs on when it's not foggy! (and illegal). Just a thoughtfunny-man31 wrote:It is leagel to drive with only the foglights on here in Denmark, if you use them as driving lights!

Re: Problems with activate the foglights
And another thing - why don't you get a light on the dash to tell you when your front fogs are on ?
Re: Problems with activate the foglights
Cos its on the headlight switch!!!!ZephyR wrote:And another thing - why don't you get a light on the dash to tell you when your front fogs are on ?

Re: Problems with activate the foglights
Yeah I know that but in daylight (foggy/misty) conditions its very hard to see that. Also you don't keep looking down at your light switch when your driving so its easy to forget that you've left them on - unlike a light on the dash.Andy-GTI wrote:Cos its on the headlight switch!!!!ZephyR wrote:And another thing - why don't you get a light on the dash to tell you when your front fogs are on ?
The rear fogs are on the light switch too but they have a light on the dash. All previous cars I've had with front & rear fogs have had warning lights on the dash. The Roc doesn't !

Re: Problems with activate the foglights
well, when you have put them on surely you know youve put them on!!!!
plus having the fog lights on is cool, it makes the front end look loads more aggressive, they dont blind people like lasers, you've bought a cool car now try and be cool!!!

Re: Problems with activate the foglights
to quote the highway code...
"You MUST NOT use front or rear fog lights unless visibility is seriously reduced (see Rule 226) as they dazzle other road users and can obscure your brake lights. You MUST switch them off when visibility improves."
"[Rule 226You MUST use headlights when visibility is seriously reduced, generally when you cannot see for more than 100 metres (328 feet). You may also use front or rear fog lights but you MUST switch them off when visibility improves (see Rule 236).]"
sorry but in my opinion having your fog lights on when you don't need them is not big & is not clever & WILL get you pulled over by the police!
