Fitting rear view cameras. The flip badge type.

Hello all,
Looking for some answers as there is little to no information online from what I’ve found so far.
I have a facelift Scirocco, 2016 1.4 TSI. Visibility out of the back when reversing is abit rubbish and want to fit a RVC.
The car I have has the ‘composition media’ head unit, the one with the single vertical SD card slot on the left.
From what I’ve read so far, the ‘discovery media’ unit has two vertical SD card slots on each side and has navigation. Each can take a RVC, however may need programming.
I’d ideally like to install a RVC that is the ‘flip’ kind.. as in, replace the rear badge. This is where my problem starts.
The car currently has the boot release as the rear badge, so it’s possible to retrofit the flip camera in its place. Has anyone here done this? Is there enough space for it? Does it work?
I’m running into conflicting information amongst the little information there is out there online, some clarity would help!
Thank you
