Boot release switch issue

Hi my key fob works fine to open the boot but the interior switch only releases half way and seems latched still. Any ideas?

Maybe as I have just cured a similar problem. When I pressed the release button I heard the click and the gate lift. Going round to open it, fund that it had caught on the second latch. The cause was shutting the drivers door sending a bit of pressure into the car, lifting the hatch which then dropped onto the latch. If I left the drivers door open, the hatch was still released and could be opened. Ta Dah! I have now replaced the buffers (after breaking four until I figured out how to do it) and the problem is cured. Buffers £8 each from VW so don't buy them from the eb site at twice the price.
