Clutch Replacement

Post by HarveyW1lson »

Hi all, hoping someone would be able to advise me
I have a 2010 Scirocco GT, 6 Speed Manual, 2.0 TSI, 155KW (210BHP)

I need my clutch replaced as its having a squeak noise which has been determined as this fault TSB2028783 which basically is the clutch not being lubricated enough and subsequently makes a squeaking noise when pulling away in 1st and sometimes 2nd gear.

Hopefully someone will be able to advise me if I'm doing the right thing and if not then advise me on the right part for the car. I have found a Sachs clutch Part NO. (641442970) on Carparts4less.co.uk this is a clutch plate and pressure plate for the clutch. This is priced at £177 which is what I'm looking for and will get a garage to swap it out

What I need to know if this clutch kit is good for the car and if I absolutely need to get a fly wheel and a Central Slave Cylinder. If I don't need them then I will just get the clutch kit as I believe this is the only issue which makes 1st and 2nd gear pulls squeaky. (see this video for reference [NOT MINE] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sl2DG0ciD5w" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

In my opinion, if your changing the clutch, it's false economy not to change the flywheel and the slave cylinder.

Hi mate, yeah good point I had a bit more of a look into it all and I'm getting all 3 parts changed (clutch plate, pressure plate and the slave cylinder) should be done by next Thursday 25/03/2021 so fingers crossed all goes well and I wont have that horrible first and 2nd gear squeak.
