Scirocco 2.0tdi neutral position sensor pick up ring.

Hiya. Got a scirocco again. It’s a 2.0tdi blue motion 6speed man. Doing a few bits to it to get everything working. One thing I noticed wasn’t working was auto stop start. Read up online the pickup ring for neutral can slip down or break off. Did a read and got the code neutral position sensor implausible signal. So took out neutral position sensor and couldn’t see pickup ring/ collar. So I proceeded to take out shit tower or shift unit. And once out yes there pickup ring is no where to be seen. Just wondering how I need to go about this. I’ve tried looking for a new shift tower but can’t find one. Or can I get a new collar and put on it? Any help would be brill. Cheers
