OSRAM Night Breaker LASER upgrade

Post by tomintoul »

Are these the right headlight bulbs to upgrade (so that I can see!!) my 2015 1.4 TSi 92kw.
Also, having searched elsewhere for bulb numbers, it appears that high and low beams use the H7 ??

Yes, both the dipped and main beam bulbs are H7 55W.

I can't comment on those specific bulbs but I've used Osram Night Breaker bulbs in the past on previous cars and they were an improvement over the standard halogen bulb. Philips Xtreme Vision bulbs also get good reviews.

THB i used to use Osram Night breakers on several different cars when driving 22-31K year a good improvement in light output but invariably they never lasted very long some wa less than a year and that was before Auto headlights DLR I swapped to Philips and they seem to last longer although costa little more

I fitted Philips Racing Vision to the Scirocco a few weeks after I bought it to improve the night driving on A,B class roads which they did ,

I've looked at getting Philips RacingVision GT200 Headlamp Bulbs

At least this time round they're being honest and stating that the 200% improvement is compared to the legal minimum (maybe someone complained). I just looked up the legal minimum. It's, wait for it... 30 watts. Yep, 30 watts. It's not measured in lumens but watts, and you only need 30 of them. These bulbs are up to 200% brighter than a 30 watt headlight bulb. Sweet.

have you noticed the lifespan of those gt200’s. 250 hours

You’ll be lucky to get 6 months out of them if you drive for 1.5 hours a day every day
