Removing DCC suspension fault warning on the dash

My MOT brought up that my DCC rear shock is leaking. I do 20k miles a year and I've heard that OE only lasts 40k. Hence, I'm reluctant to spend ~£300 on a single OE DCC Monroe when a set of all 4 non DCC Koni STR.T shocks costs less and will last for years.
Does anyone know how to get rid of the warning light on the dash if I do ditch the OE Dynamic Chassis Control system?

Get DCC turned off using VCDS.
Also can you feedback the difference in ride quality once you have replaced them?

I've ordered the Koni's for £302 from DC Performance and booked to get them fitted with standard springs the following weekend. I've high hopes this will go swimmingly!

Sorry for the delay. Been very distracted. Haven't gotten round to the warning light yet.
The Koni STR.T shocks have been absolutely fantastic and vastly improved the handling. Everything feels more surefooted and planted now.
