On and off for a while I’ve had P0441 code pop up now I’ve replaced my filler cap and it stopped. Well till my full tank dropped below half a tank of fuel. Anybody got any ideas why this happens?

NEver had this but a quick search shows -
Missing Fuel cap
Incorrect fuel filler cap used
Fuel filler cap remains open or fails to close
Foreign matter caught in fuel filler cap
Incorrect fuel tank vacuum relief valve

I had this code, not on my Scirocco but on our Polo GTI. It did turn out to be the EVAP control valve that had gone faulty. I had that replaced at a cost of about £170 (VW independent) but a few months later got the same code again. This time it was a charcoal filter used for absorbing fuel vapours, so had that replaced at a cost of about £120 from memory. All fine since, hopefully yours was a one off!

A Genuine VW Activated Carbon Charcoal Cabin Filter is only ~ £10 to £15 which you fit yourself easily.

Although it's irrelevant as this thread is 4 years old, the charcoal canister used to absorb petrol fumes and is located under the bonnet, is a totally different part to the Charcoal Cabin filter.
