Rough idle loss of power..

OK so I posted a topic earlier about my turbo whistling, also it seems so ha e developed a rough idle.
I can't see the revs going up or down but I can hear the exhaust sound wavering up and down.. Like GrrRrrrrrRrrrrrRrrrrrRrrrr
So I took it to the garage.. They said they couldn't find a fault or hear the whistling but when I drove the car afterwards it seemed OK.. Until I put my foot down going onto the motorway it definitely feels like its lost power. Tested again on another road and same thing it just doesn't pull like it did. From being flung back in my seat to hardly at all.
Now the engine wavering is back.. But the whistling has stopped.. Has anyone any idea what this could be??

When I had a very rough idle on my Scirocco R it was the PCV valve, these are prone to fail all the time and VW have revised this part numerous times trying to make it last longer but still ends up failing. I have since had enough of replacing the PCV so I now run a Forge PCV delete plate, I have been running the delete plate for the past 3 years with no idle issues ever again.
I never had a whistling noise though, this could be the N80 evap purge valve which is also know to fail and does emit sounds when failing.
I would personally get both of these parts changed at the same time as they both fail on the R.

Just to avoid confusion, it's PCV and not PVC. OP might not get what he expected if they Google "PVC"

Haha. Yeah I don't need any pvc!!
Cheers though any info at all will be a step closer to sorting it so I'll take it to a different garage this time and ask them to check that out!
