Hi to all,
Has anybody noticed there is what appears to be a 'mini' radiator behind the front grille on the near side; looks like this is why it's open to the air whereas symmetrically on the offside, there is no gap.

Just wondering if this is specific to the R Model or all Models. Also, after a drive, sometimes notice some droplets around the area (not a leak, more like a tiny spray but doesn't seem to be water).

Think that’s the dsg cooler (mine’s a manual so I don’t have one). As to being wet, perhaps someone else with dsg can tell you how to check for a leak.

Specific to R Models with DSG - it's not on non R models DSG or not.

Hi, just to reassure anybody who may have been concerned about a possible leak. Had VW dealership check out my concern; absolutely no fluid leak at all. The droplets turned out to be either some excess lubricant or the waxy protective material that is sprayed over certain parts of the engine bay.
