Received My Rising Blue Scirocco GT a week or so ago and happy to report the car it totally awesome.

It is fantastic to drive and makes my old mk 5 golf seem like my first car, a citroen saxo lol

I have went for the diesel 140 version as I didnt see why a remap by vw was worth an extra 1k
That being said I have booked a Remap for next monday which is going to boost the bad boy from 140bhp to 195bhp and the torque from 236lbft torque up to 328lbft... Which for a Diesel ...is only 5bhp away from the petrol version ....Sounds Excellent to me.

It Really has put fun back into driving and after the remap is done I think A bigger Smile is gonna be on my face.

A minor dissapointment is that the ones being released now have the white coloured computer and a dash panel from a tiguan, also the gti steering wheel, , but I can live without it , after all its not a gti... a car I wanted so badly, but now ive the scirocco the Gti has slowly started to look very square shaped.

I really love this car and plan on looking after it for a long time,, The only other tempting car now is gonna be the scirocco R.... maybe down the line lol.

I have the leather seats, sat nav and reversing sensors,, This car Rocks !!!

A Note to everyone on the site- The topics are great keep up the good work and seriously cool modding.

Took The Car to vw today to see if they would fix the smeery windscreen issue but seemed to have not heard of it, so the car is booked in on tuesday to be looked at. All he knew was that it a windscreen wiper wasnt under warrenty because of wear and tear.. The vw staff seem to know nothing im losing alot of respect for them. Actually have no respect for the stealers!

+1 where are you getting the remap?

I'm only aware of gains of around 35bhp, taking it to around 185bhp, not 195...

Hey guys, Just an update on my remap.. All done.. The guys who did it seems to think its now as quick as the petrol version,,they were quoting 197 to 200. and undetectable..With a modified turbo up to 230bhp and Im getting details about a turbo that looks standard but isnt :) tomorrow.
After it was done we done a test drive and I would agree its now immensly fast. its a whole new car and for a diesel it seriously moves.
I'd reccommend it to anyone. Massive Smiles-Great fun.

congratulations on the car it's a shame ive got to wait for a year to get mine! I must ask you is the company offering good aftercare, those gains sound mightly impressive almost too good to be true. Are any components upgraded accordingly or is still within tolerances of the oem equipment?

I mean wonder what these guys could do to a 170!

Hey, No other parts were upgraded only the ecu map was done. and after driving it this morning theres no problems at all.
This is the 2nd remap I have had from celtic tuning and i am still very impressed with them. on their website they dont seem to have the 170 scirocco but it will probably be there by the time you receive yours unless it is the same map as say a golf or passat, same engine or anything like that. This remap was the only reason I didnt buy the 170. It may be best to ring them or e-mail them and ask because as far as im aware the engine i have is the same as you have though differently mapped. there experts they'll be able to sort you out and probably advise on further upgrades if you wanted.
and they say they give you 3 years warrenty on their software but I think its unlikely anything will go wrong.

And guys My Wiper smear issue was resolved this morning, I took the car in to vw and still being told it wouldnt be under warrenty I sat and waited. When someone emerged they told me it would be fixed under warrenty. then someone else quoted out of good will.. though clearly it must be a fault with them or they woulda charged me. Thank god its fixed it was starting to do my head in.

REMAP is BEYOND ALL MY EXPECTATIONS!!!! trust me its GOOOOOD!!!!

Hey guys, Just wanted to add ive read alot on this site and following others advice ,, clayed my car after using the 2 bucket method . followed by some wax,,,ideally i wanted to polish and wax more than one coat but it has got dark... a conclusion,,the clay is amazing!! If the weather is good 2moro I may continue cleaning to perfection.
sadly after the clean today ive noticed a few more stone chips which is slightly upsetting.

a follow up on my remap,,,still amazing,,overtaking is ppiss easy and reaching 60 mph in seconds in 2nd gear is great fun.

still absolutely love the car!! the only way it will ever leave me is if I save some more cash and get the R....which I would love to do,, tho easier said lol

Tempting Mods on my mind + wanted ones: (1) lowering by 35mm (2)steering wheel upgrade - though way pricey (3) unavailable but R front bumper
(4) upgraded Turbo (5) stone chip touch up (6) painted A pieces but abit out my league

My location,,East sussex....Any other Rocco's around?

I believe the steering wheel is not possible at all, factory order only. If you've read what I been writing in the forum

I must have missed it, I havent seen your post, I tried looking there but couldnt find it. I have seen the new steering wheel on ebay and some other sites though what i want to know is the left and right buttons, which are new will not work,,,thats not my concern, its that will the other buttons still work? Obviously this kind of job would be carried out by a pro.

Just something that comes to mind every now and then. Though with a GT badge fitted on my 09 its hard to really justify £400 - £500 on a steering wheel when theres nothing wrong with mine... kind of bugs me that they changed spec so quickly but ah well thats life.

Also has anyone with a TDI had a turbo upgrade??

david - have you had it dyno'd to see the actual power that the celtic tuning map puts out?

also is that 197bhp at the wheel?

161bhp at the wheels dude. I would assume the TSI is 165-ish at the wheels.

hey chojin, Im afraid I have not had it dyno'd as there main location was too far away. In honesty the through the wheels is something I didnt really think about. I know the performance is great and I'm well happy with it.

Andy is right about the wheel part though, just checked it up on their website. I have no idea if the stats are good or not... Though I know its very quick to drive. I seriously doubt you will be dissapointed because I noticed MASSIVE improvements immediately..I cant emphrase 'MASSIVE' & 'IMMDEDIATELY' enough. As I'm sure you can tell I am happy with it. If you have it done you should understand why.

You guys probably noticed the scirocco R is available for configuration on uk site now !! Imagine that bad boy remapped.

Having read this I contacted Celtic and having been through what they do have booked mine in for the same upgrade next Friday.

I live just over the border from Cornwall in Devon so am going to take in down to their head office and have it done there which is not only cheaper but also includes before and after numbers from their Dastek rolling road.

I'll keep you posted on what the results show.

Hey no problem! If you look at my other post there is a bit more commentary!

All I can say is that the car has totally different characteristics, much easier to drive, more flexible and a heck of alot more fun when you want it to be. Overtaking is now effortless. Would like to find some where near by with sometiming gear to see what she really does now but that is really irrelavent as she does what I wanted from the change! Also getting an extra 4 mpg since the change.

Readout Torque Power - engine Power - wheels

Before 262.0 @ 2432 150.5 @ 3971 113.3 @ 3052

After 321.6 @ 2340 189.2 @ 3601 154.5 @ 3523

Hi Guys. Just wondering if anyone ever had any problems with these remaps. I'm thinking of getting it done with CT too on my 170, and I'm guessing enough time has passed to see if anything went wrong as a result....

Hey marmaluke, Was looking through my old posts. Cant speak for others or myself really as I read my old comments....little bit laughing.
i part ex'd the Tdi about a year after and got the R version. although in the year i had it , ran smooth no problems.
and just part ex'd the R for an A45 AMG
Reading my comment on how much i loved it then changed it tho. perhaps somebody else will help you out.
from reading the site over the years tho lots recommend Revo remaps. or theres the bluefin option which i considered for my R as you can take it back off again yourself.
hope you get one your happy with theres plenty of other posts on it should you get no joy on this one.
