Hi
I have recently bought a 2016 Scirocco gt with nav.
Looking through the menu came across App Connect which you can connect your phone to but it says I need a code.
I went to the dealers today to price it up.
£219 for a code and fitting. What the hell do they think I am made of money.
Is there any cheaper way of doing it.
Thanks
Steve

Jesus Wept!! £219!!!
To be honest mate, it’s not worth the £219 - could’ve swore it was only £130/£140 to get done. I’ve got I but as a good-will gesture from my dealership as they messed me around loads with a fault on my car from factory. The only profit I think.....maybe using the Apple Maps instead of the Bit Part VW sat nav which only allows 4 parts of a 6 part postcode!! That really winds me up!!
The music function isn’t much off the media button on the dash..so in a nutshell mate. Keep the money and get some Sills and mudflaps or something .

So that's why I couldn't navigate anywhere in Wales and had to use my phone. What a jokeSBenn wrote:VW sat nav which only allows 4 parts of a 6 part postcode!! That really winds me up!!

Re: App Connect
There is actually a way to get the full 6 part postcode if you don't know. Next to the searchbar from the SatNav screen is a little drop down box, if you click on the "Address" button, then click on the "City" button in the next screen, at the bottom left there should be an option to select a postcode. However even then it's annoying because you have to go on to switch between the letters and numbers screens, and you HAVE to have a space between the two parts of the postcode otherwise it won't be recognised. So much for German efficiency!SciroccoCW wrote:So that's why I couldn't navigate anywhere in Wales and had to use my phone. I can post some pictures later if that may make it a little clearer.

Alright mate! Yeah if you could. To be honest as in my earlier post, I just plug In the phone and use Apple maps but would be good to know and try out.harveysingh wrote:SciroccoCW wrote:There is actually a way to get the full 6 part postcode if you don't know.
