Window problem?

I have noticed twice when locking the car that the windows (both sides) have gone down about 1-2 inches and stayed there leaving a gap. They weren't down before getting out the car. Last time it was persisting it down with rain and I only noticed an hour later
Do I have a problem with window regulators or something, or have I found a function and activated it without knowing?

The windows drop 1cm so they don't snag on the rubbers when you open the door. All VAG group cars with frameless windows do this. The glass fits up into a rubber channel when the door is closed, you couldn't open the door if the glass didn't drop 1cm or so.
If yours drop more than this and stay down when you lock the car then you have an issue - go and see your dealer.

I understand the need for them to drop a cm in order to allow the doors to open. It is the face that it has dropped inches and stayed down. I have also notice bug for got to mention....
I get in the car and obviously the windows go down to allow you in. You close the door and they go up again. I have also noticed that when I turn the ignition and start the engine, they seem to quickly drop and go back up again. Don't remember this when I first test drove it. Does anyone elses to this. I don't understand why hey would need to do this.
