RNS 510 VIM

Hi I have the RNS 510, with DAB etc.
I was wanting to carry out the VIM hack, however, after searching the internet for quite a while, I've become more confused than before.
I've found the file etc for VIM and even burnt it to a DVD, however I have realised that there are many different versions of rns510 and I don't want to put the wrong files on.
Anyone able to point me in the right direction as to how I should do this?
