I popped into the VW dealership/service center in portsmouth yesterday to see if the could help me sort out this issue,
They said that ill need to book it in for a check up costing £180 (WTF) sureley this has to be a simple fix?
I do have a dash mounted handsfree device fitted (came with the car) which i think may be playing part in this.
Also if i were to buy an upgraded heasd unit (eg RS510) will maps, phone, bluutooth etc work through that?
2009 2.0 TDI GT

If you think the dash mounted/hands free device that came fitted with the car is causing the problems can you not isolate and remove that to check first?Garyb12 wrote:I popped into the VW dealership/service center in portsmouth yesterday to see if the could help me sort out this issue,

As for the head unit, depends if it has maps installed, whether your car has the bluetooth module already fitted (mine didn't, I got it retrofitted) You'd also need some coding done for it to work with the steering wheel (depending on wheel)

I've removed the hands free device, and the problem is still there, there is power to the mdi and aux ports, but I think it may be the head unitKarnivore wrote:If you think the dash mounted/hands free device that came fitted with the car is causing the problems can you not isolate and remove that to check first?Garyb12 wrote:I popped into the VW dealership/service center in portsmouth yesterday to see if the could help me sort out this issue,
