I suspect it'll be all show and no go but it's quite a nice looking car.

Not for me that one. The new renaultsport Megane looks awesome though, and will no doubt be a great drive. I like my 'roc though, does everything well, looks confort, fun, build quality etc etc. The last renaultsport i has (clio r27) just wasn't durable enough, cloth started to fray within 10K miles and i managed to break the gearbox (which has never happened to me before, ever) . The Clio 200 has a revised box though i gather but the cup chassis is even stiffer now, and it was fairly useless on B roads before, sod all traction, and couldn't cope with braking bumps or mid corner bumps, just no traction. Good track day car though. The scirocco absolutely destroys it cross country though with it's super supple chassis. It's just faster everywhere in the real world.
I just realised that was all off topic, but it sprung to mind. I like my Scirocco!

I agree with you totally. Just chopped in my Megane R26 for the Roc. Two different entities entirely..... The Roc can't touch the megane for traction of pace, but the style and comfort and build quality is streets ahead.

yeah the R26 is an effective machine alright, i think the new RS Megane looks great aswell.
The clio cup chassis is too stiff on our roads though, it really lacked for traction on bumpy surfaces. The bump steer was bad on the 197 too, it actually would yank the wheel when you hit a bump (and clunk loudly), the rack needed to be lower like on the cup cars, or the location point on the hubs lowered since they came straight fromt the megane. I gather they've re-designed them on the clio 200 though, presumably to deal with that geometry problem. I like the clios a lot though, just didn't trust it to last, looks like they still haven't changed the cloth on the recaros. They are very well damped and superb on a smooth surface though, just not enough travel for our bumpy roads. I'm totally converted to turbos for road use now though, just so much more practical. The clio only really has one mood, fun, but no good when you're tired and just want to get home quickly and efficiently.

No chance! It looks very nice, but there's abolsutely no way you'd fit anyone in the back! If I'd not wanted 4 seater ability, I'd have bought a TT (I'm average sized and couldn't fit in back of a TT without injury!) and a 2 seater.
I think it's going to appeal to TT would be buyers who want something a bit different and are not badge snobs and don't want to pay as much...

Looks like there's even less room in the back than a TT

Rumoured to be 20-25k.
Too much dough for not enough go I think.
Is anyone going to spend 25k on a peugeot rather than a TT?
