I'm going to pick a 2.0 tsi Rocco in viper green up next week sometime, don't really know much about engines.So I need to listen for a rattle on start up from cold?
Does anyone have a video of the rattle I need to listen for please?
The car has done 71k with no issues as far as I'm aware, could there still be a chance the chain tensioner could go?
Is it worth getting it changed to the new tensioner asap?
Excited to be picking the Rocco up but quite nervous about this chain tensioner Issue on some of the engines.
Got a cool 180 mile drive home in it which I'm looking forward to.

If you're listening out for a rattle mate, you will hear one on these engines. They are natrually rattly engines

Here you go: " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Taken from the golf mk6 forum, which shares the same engine.
And more on the detail of the problem: http://www.golfmk6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=102001" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Hope this helps.

the owner actually suggested later that the noise wasn't caused by the tensioner as it still exists after the chain tensioner being replaced.
