Hi guys

I've ordered my car back in january but have yet to hear a duilding date. But I was planning to pick up the car myself at the factory in portugal if that's possible when it's build. Then I'd just make a little vacation out of it.

Does anyone know if is possible to arrange this with your dealer? And would it make it a lot of difference concerning delivery?

That would be cool. Seeing as I would get it a lot sooner. I've read that it is possible to arrange that with VW in Germany. That you get a 2 day arrangement then with a sleepover at the Ritz Carlton hotel in the vincinity there and stuff?

I'm not looking for anything that fancy but I was just wondering if it's possible or if someone maybe has done that?

Sorry I had to tell you guys I'm from Belgium. But I think you're right. Don't they get shipped to VW Germany first or something like that? I had my doubts too that the final quality checks would happen in portugal.

I'd be more concerned that you've already waited 7 months.. and not even got a Build-date yet ! Seems like a loooooong time waitin'.
I ordered on 1 May (this year ) and last week was build week. Due to pick it up in next 3 weeks (apparently..)

Trust me I AM concerned about that. -_- I'm gonna drop by this week to ask what the deal is. But I guess there's nothing much more you can do then wait? I'm still HOPING for the end of august though...
