Climate control digital readout issue

I've got a 58 plate roc that has developed a strange problem with the digital climate control displays. When I turn the car on, instead of displaying a temperature, the displays go a bit haywire for about ten seconds. They then settle down and read "HI", or "23.5" or whatever temperature they're set to and everything works perfectly. I had to replace ignition relay 460 recently and wonder if that is anything to do with it? Anyone have any experience of this or know how to fix it?
