TSI 1.4 CRANKS BUT NO START - ESP ERROR

Post by kaka22 »

Good evening everyone,

First of all, my name is Tiago Silva and i'm a proud owner of a tsi 1.4 160 Rocco.
I guess we are a lor around here :D

Since 28th July, My rocco doesn't start, and even VW doesn't seem to know what the problem is.
I have had the engine changed in June and for one month everything seemed to ok but one day after work i was going to start the car but no luck, the engine cranks but the car doesnt start.
In the MFD comes ERROR : ESP. and the cooler fan starts working like crazy for 5mins +/-

I recorded a video so that its easier to explain (watch with high volume) - " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Can you plese help me?

Regards,
Tiago Silva

Try a new battery, check fuses and scan for fault codes.

HeycRoy_01,

Thanks for the answer.
Already switched the battery and the fuses at VW.

Friday i've paid 940€ for a new ECU cause VW said the it was faulty and saturday (yesterday) the same problem occured.
The rocco was already 3 times in VW and they dont seem to figure the problem out.

Thank you

Probably poor ground somewhere - check engine ground strap to battery / chassis.
Check starter motor grounding and power.
Check grounding terminal on top of the engine for the coil packs.

Sounds like a software issue to me.
