Scirocco 1.4 160 58 acceleration problem

Hi, hope someone can help.

I recently travelled from the West Midlands to Devon, on the way there I could not fault the car and it was a dream to drive. On the way back around 20 miles into the journey there was a problem when i accelerated, when trying to overtake and travelling at speed at around 75 the car would struggle to increase speed, I would have to drop down to 5th just to get a slight increase in speed. This issue lasted for around 5 miles then the car went back to normal, the car was once again responsive and had no issues with acceleration, this issue did occur again further in the journey but this was for a short time only. The car was recently serviced (within 2 weeks) and the spark plugs were done in March as they needed doing. I did experience what felt like misfires when i first purchased the car put the change in plugs and new coil packs seemed to fix the issue (no misfires were found on the diagnostics).

I have read about piston death but believe that because the car was fine the majority of the time and there wasn't any engine warning lights that it isn't that. Could it maybe be something to do with the injectors. I really love the car but these slight problems are starting to get really annoying, i have a few months left on a warranty wise warranty and want to get any work that needs doing done.

Thanks.

Need to get it scanned to see if there are any error codes logged

At this stage it could be anything (failing coil pack, sticking turbo actuator or other boost related issues - n75 valve malfunction, recirc valve failing etc)

Quick update, had the car scanned for error codes and there wasn't any. Car has been performing fine as of late.

Further update.

The brief lack of power seems to happen more often now, i have noticed that the whine of either the supercharger or turbocharger doesn't happen when this problem occurs, if i lift my foot off and put it back on the whine can be heard and the power comes back. Could this suggest a problem with the turbo actuator ? I have read the module again and there isn't any error codes, i am aware that problems with the actuator don't always cause error codes.

Going to get the car booked in with the garage this week, any guidance on what i should be telling the mechanic would be appreciated.

kind regards.

Hi can't reply to pm for some reason mine is the turbo only tsi didn't have to remove the turbo just the heat shield 5 bolts spray wd40 on actuator arm end and all good again but I did also have n75 go bad which felt worse than sticking actuator arm edit fix didn't last had to put in new turbo all fixed now
