So received a letter today from vw saying book your car in to get this emmision thing sorted,
wanted to know if my remap will get deleted?

Probably it will. Maybe you can ask the remapper to save your map and put it back in after emission software.

Or just tell VW you don't want the updated software doing.

Yes thats what im doing also. Its not safety related so free to choose.
A next owner can always perform this recall afterwards.
I have also submitted in the lawsuit against vw for this emission scandal.
But havent heared much about it since april.

Just thinking laterally for a second - there is the possibility that at some point the authorities may decide that you must have the fix done to remove the cheat software in order to get an MOT?

Not sure how they're going to enforce that. It'd either mean a new complex computerised database system to monitor and track cars which require or have had recalls/updates, or a new MOT test and all related equipment to test and monitor NOX and all other emissions against a database of accepted values. I can't see either of those being implemented and applied retrospectively.

First get some money back from VW, then we talk;) They have to change the EU law to enforce it.
