Warranty Direct

Post by Garyhamilton »

Hi guys,

Do any of you have experience with Warranty Direct?

Bought my car used, and was included a one year warranty (not VW warranty). The car is a 160 Twincharged, and naturally i want it covered under warranty. My question is, is it worth using the Volkswagen Extended warranty, or does any one have any experience with warranty direct, in particular covering the engine?

Thanks in advance

Hi mate, I had a 3 month premium warranty with warranty wise supplied with my 1.4 160 and had a positive experience. They paid their share of all the work that was completed, that included work to the level sensor on the suspension arm and new bearings in the gear box. My mechanic said that some sometimes they like to inspect what needs doing before they approve it but that wasn't the case with me and all work was approved. My only advice would be to read the small print, I had a premium warranty, meaning that all mechanical and electrical parts were covered as well as wear and tear making it difficult for them to get out of paying for work. The only issue i had was with the garage who supplied the warranty, they set the labour rate at £35 including vat, that would probably be okay in the 90's but i struggled to find a garage that had a labour rate below £45, resulting in me paying the difference.

Hope that helps.
