Scirocco Central

Morning!

I have a GT 170 TDI on a 61 plate. Its done a, so far, trouble free 96k however last month it started not getting up to temperature. I do c. 100miles a day so I know exactly when it gets to temp. It started not going high at all, with oil only hitting c. 76'.

So I got the thermostat replaced - but the problem still persists! The new thermostat almost seemed to sort it for a week but this morning it didn't warm up again. I ended up turning the car off, starting it with my foot flat to the floor ( the logic in my mind that the water would be instantly blasted through the 'sticking' part and release it) and it worked.

anyone have any ideas what's going on?

The dsg sometimes has a thermostat also i heared, maybe this is the problem?
