Scirocco Central

Bit of a strange topic but which model scirocco have i got on my 2015 R? Sounds daft. But i've got the facelift bumpers and new steering wheel, however with the old stereo and old engine (old big block cover not like the new golf)

bit disappointed it wasn't the newer interior and that i've got the old engine although the log book says its the 280 bhp model which i was under the impression thats the new engine?

Thr facelift Scirocco R is 280bhp but it still uses a revised version of the older EA113 engine whereas the Golf R uses the EA888 engine. For whatever reason VW decided to keep the old engine in the facelift of the Scirocco R although they did up the power to 280PS (276bhp).

Sorry can't comment on the headunit.

MY2015 facelift cars have the older RCD or RNS systems, while for MY2016 it was updated to have the new (MIB II) systems.

The engine is as Cuprabob says still the same base engine on the facelift, just updated to 280. The Golf 7 R engine is not available in any Scirocco R anywhere.

Fair enough thanks for the information guys! Gutted I didn't shop round more and get a newer one now

I think the media got this wrong when the facelift came out, as I was also under the initial impression that is was the new block from the G7R however in Cupra 280 spec

In a way its clever marketing from VW as they will shift more if people think its got the 280 Cupra engine
