Retro DAB Radio

Post by arlurt »

Does anyone know if the DAB tuner can be retro fitted to the Scirocco?

The "Digital Britain" report that came out this week mentioned switching off the non-digital radio stations earlier than had previously been planned. It'd be nice if it's possible to upgrade the RCD510 rather than swap it...

Don't think so mate as it's built into the unit and has a dedicated button for DAB . I think it replaces the traffic info store thingy (technical eh!) So although both units are RCD510 they are two different models. The roof aerial also has an extra bee sting bit for DAB.(newer cars have it built into the rear windows I believe) But, if there is a sudden analogue switchover you can bet someone will have a go at modifying!
