Well, picked up my new Scirocco on Saturday in a journey that involved a 620 mile round trip and selling my old Z4 in the process. Here she is in all her standard OEM glory.

Image

Car as I picked it up is pretty much stock, spec includes:
  • Leather Heated Seats
    Winter Pack
    Xenon Headlights
    DAB/Bluetooth/Satnav Head Unit
    Elec Heated mirrors
    Rear Parking Sensors
    ACC Adaptive Chassis Control
    Cruise Control
    Dual Climate Control
Initial plans to come include:
  • Lowering on H&R Springs
    Gloss Black roof wrap
    Gloss Black wing mirrors
    Gloss Black Interior Trim
    New Alloy Wheels
Colour coded side strips and lower grill
    Vinyl Headrest Decals
    REVO Remap
Cheers :)

Looks lovely mate - have you already changed led bulbs or was that previous ownerr??

You says its got Bi-Directional Xenon but they don't look like xenons to me?

Only bulbs I've changed are two LED's in the interior dome lights as one had gone, went for a slightly blueish hue and can't fault them.

Definitely Xenons, just a dark picture probably :)

Looks nice in white.
Dont look like Xenons to me either. Even so you can't get directional xenons on the Scirocco.
My dad has them on his Octavia and they are great at night. Take a bit of getting used to though.

Here's a clearer pic, they're definitely Xenons :)

Not sure if they were retrofitted or what but they're "bi directional" too, in that you turn the steering wheel and the lights turn to light up the way the wheel points?

Yay for Xenons!
The xenons have a separate halogen cornering light which is only active up to about 25mph (I think it's 40kph?) .
As opposed to actual cornering xenons where the xenon unit turns.

how did you find the z4? brainstorming next cars and considering an e90 m3 or z4m.

Ah fair enough it could be that then, I was told by the owner that was called Bi-Directional :) All I know is I turn the wheel and it lights up sideways.

Loved the Z as a pure driving car, though now I've got the Scirocco not sure I could go back to living with one as a daily. One of the best cars I've driven for power, performance, fun and kerb appeal. but distinct lack of comfort, practicality and mod cons.

Would definitely have one as a weekend/second fun car again in the future, or would consider an E89.

Not really an update as such, but a new car is as good an excuse as any to splash out on some new kit :)

I saw the ad for the car and the seller was confused. The are Bi-Xenons which means the same Xenon bulb does dipped and main beam via a shutter mechanism.

As said above, they have a static cornering light.

This explains it better;

Very small update and one that probably isn't to everyones taste.

VW Detail on the headrests, just felt it broke them up slightly rather than a sea of black, looks awesome with the new slightly blue tinted LEDs.

Next up is probably debadge and black VW badges, before I start to look at H&R springs and new wheels.

Here's a shot of those badge details through the windscreen. Definitely a fan of them myself, just break it up nicely. Considering doing my name or initials underneath but not sure if that will look a bit too boy racer or tacky...

On my phone so hope this works... Thankfully they look alot better than the mock ups they provided do.

Oh and 4.50 not 3.50 :)

Thank you mate. Does it fit just for leather seats?

Yeah won't stick to cloth seats but was fine with leather, just requires patience to both apply and measure correctly to get it exactly where you want it :)
