RCD 510 SD Card Error

I bought a 64gb SD card for my scirocco, I added music on my Mac dragged and dropped it in, when I put the card in my head unit it says SD card error, check card. Do I need to format the card? If so how would I do this on a Mac?

Try formatting it as FAT32 and it should work.

Format it as said to FAT 32, and don't use a MAC as it adds all sorts of hidden files to the card which can cause issues.

As said, formatting needs to be FAT32.

The size might also be an issue depending on the firmware version in the RCD510, as there is something in the back of my mind that makes me think earlier versions can only read smaller capacities of SD card.

The later versions certainly support 32Gb. You can use a larger card I believe, but it'll only see 32Gb of the card which causes problems.

Yeah I have a 1tb HDD plugged into mine which has been formatted to FAT32 works perfectly.

That's not an SD Card plugged into the SD slot though. That's plugged into the USB via the MDI.

Yeah exactly the same process for the software to recieve though, just a different hardware input that does the same thing PS I believe it creates some directories, as mine now has an extra folder within that section. You can also use them still in Windows etc as mine has 600gb of music on then a load of work files

Formatted this morning and it works like a charm, thanks everyone
