Hi Guys,

Just wondering what kind of wear rate you are getting on a set of these boots.

I have done about 10k since i got all 4 in May 2015.

I am down to about 4mm on the front.
Still 7.5mm on the rear.

I don't drive like a granny  but seems like quite high wear on the fronts?

Wear is even across all the tyres.

Thanks

I've not run F1s on the Scirocco but when O used them on the R32 I got about 20k out of the fronts.

They are a soft compound tyre so do have a higher than average wear rate especially when putting all that torque through the fronts.

20k?? You guys are doing it all wrong, I got 2k miles from a set few years ago on a Fiesta Zetec S and no I wasn't sitting do burn-outs all the time.

To be honest if I get 10k miles from a set of fronts I'm happy. Currently have a set on my Scooby but it only does about 1k miles a year.

If I was only getting 2k from a set of front tyres I would be going through 12 sets a year:-)

10-12k was my average on my Golf mk5 TDI DSG.

Big heavy high torque engines (diesel) will eat front tyres. Combine that with the suspension geometry on the sportier VAG cars (GT/GTI/GTD/R) and they wear faster still.
Add a DSG into the mix with its fast get-away and general ease of acceleration and you end up with being lucky to see much more than 10k on a set of fronts.

My 1.4 TSI is wearing a bit better, but I doubt I will see 15k.

Iv got 30k out of mine so far still plenty left in them, I just swap them back to front every 10k or so. The pzeros the car had on didn't last as well they were factory fit, but gripped a lot better then the f1 asym 2, I'm going for mpss next. HTH

I had the compete opposite. For me the pzeros were much harder Less grip but lasted longer....

I got around 20k out of them(pzero) I did back to front them once, the fronts had completely gone there was a fair amount still left on the back ones, but there seemed to be cracks appearing on the side walls so ditched them at the same time, I was really impressed with the initial grip of the asym2 at first but as they wore down the grip is lacking somewhat compared to the pzeros that were on the limit! Imo, i am running 19''s I really liked the pzeros I'm also getting a lot of under steer with the f1's which was basically non existent with the pzeros. Was considering going back to pzeros but I'm hearing a lot of praise for the Michelin pilot super sport, so I'm gonna give them a try next.

Got 35k out of a pair of Eagle F1s. I rotated them when the fronts were at just under 2/3rd worn.

I've done about 10k miles now with Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymm 2 on the front and they are looking pretty worn (18" Interlagos wheels). Grip massively reduced, especially in the wet which is now just scary - even moderate acceleration results in wheelspin. Gonna be getting them changed very soon! I see Asymm 3 is now out although tempted to try Michelin Pilot Super Sport next.

I get 8k out of a set of tyres if I'm lucky. I do live in the home of the roundabout though. Brakes are a shitter too.

Haha, must be Milton Keynes then! Know it well...I'm originally from Leighton Buzzard. Not surprised you're eating up tyres and brakes with all those roundabouts and dual carriageways!

Anyone tried the Michelin pilot sport 4s yet?
