I've recently bought a scirocco however i can't connect my phone via bluetooth. I've watched some videos online which say that i should use the setting find phone. However i can't seem to find this on my scirocco. I'm pretty sure the car is bluetooth capable as the guy i bought it off said he had his connected, also on my head unit there is an option to turn the bluetooth on/off. Im probably doing something wrong but I'm using the steering wheel buttons just like on the videos and i can't find the phone options. Hope someone can help.

Have you tried searching from your phone to see if it can see the car?

I assume you have the RNS315, if you can switch the BT on and off as it has integrated BT.

On my car which has the external BT module there is a phone menu on the MFD which gives you all the options to control from the MFSW.

I think mines the RCD510, the one without the navigation but not 100% sure. Well thats the one it looks like on google anyway.
But yeah I've tried searching on my phone and can't find anything. Also i can't find the menu to search for my phone on the car.
Do you think my car is comparable? is their any way of knowing? thanks

If it's the RCD510, which is what I have, then the BT module is below the driver's seat in a foam box. There's no option to switch BT on and off? There is an option to play BT audio under MEDIA which will be greyed out with no phone connected.

Using the RHS steering controls you can step through the MFD menus, settings, audio, phone and vehicle status using the left / right hand arrow.

Is it possible you misunderstood themselves amd he had his phone connected through the MDI port in the armrest just to play music.

Bluetooth for RCD510 is an option, so most don't have it but shows as greyed out BT Audio on stereo ...

Kit is £150 to retro fit.

Would you be able to attach a photo of the module under the drivers seat and I'll have a look to see if mine looks the same, just as I've tried using the steering wheel to find the correct settings. And I'm pretty sure he said he had it connected with BT. Thanks for the help.

You've either got a box under the seat surrounded by a polystyrene protective cover, or its just carpet the same as under the passenger side

As said, you either have the box or not under the driver's seat. You can also have a box under the passenger seat, which is the Dynaudio Amp, if that option is fitted to the car.
