Lowering question

Hey there!

I was looking into buying some Eibach lowering springs soon and browsing through some other forums aswell. I read quite alot that people recommed also changing strut bearings (not sure if it's the correct English term) alongside. Have you guys changed anything else when installing your springs or did you simply exchange the springs and that's it?

Cheers.

You will need to get your wheels realigned. They'll toe in once lowered.

Never had to do that to any of my lowered cars - lowered my R 25mm on H&R springs then got it alligned

However, if lowering on springs only, I would look at 30-40mm springs. 25mm isn't a massive drop, its nice, but I would prefer the car to be lower. I am on 18" alloys though so hopefully when I change to 19s the arch gap will reduce slightly

Strut top bearings are a common failure on VAG cars and that is why many people replace them when changing the springs, when they're off anyway. It's not a requirement but it makes sense when they're off and relatively cheap.

18" and 19" wheels have similar overall diameter once the different profile tyres are taken into account otherwise your gearing would change therefore that will have little impact on arch gap.
