For a while now my 1st in to 2nd gear change hasn't been smooth, feels quite notchy and have to take it slowly to avoid a crunch sound. Sometimes selecting 1st from neutral can have a tight feel. Going from 3rd to 2nd has no problems and neither does any other gear. I do have the Audi TT/S3 sort shifter fitted but all was fine for a few weeks after fitting it. Any suggestions please?

DSG readaption / basic settings.
Can be performed with VCDS or at dealership. First thing to try when you have these sort of DSG problems, a lot of the time it will sort out clunky shifts.
If that doesn't work then i'd say clutch pack is on its way out.

It could be that the selector cables need adjusting slightly. Quick Shifter will be exasperating the issue.

Woops! i just assumed it was DSG as when ever you hear the words 'clunk' and X gear change its always DSG.
Makes sense he has manual with short shifter -

Ha ha, definitely a manual gear box! Thanks and I'll check the cables. Hard to describe but I can feel 2nd gear engaging through the gear knob when shifting slowly.

Align the cables. You need to pop off the gear knob surround and lock it into position ... Then adjust at gearbox end.

Ok going to sort this today! Came across this on YouTube " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; it mentions locking the transmission in the home position where the the selector fits onto the gear box. Is this applicable to the scirocco?
