RNS 510 Nav Welcome to Vw Loop

Post by DannJamess »

Ive got a relatively new car to me (60 reg) Scirocco.. RNS 510 worked perfectly fine, maps as well. Now it seems to be stuck on a loop of the welcome to vw screen?

I've made an SWL disc, it found the image, completed and told me success however it still isn't working?

This is the process it goes in,Any advice? Sorry for huge pictures!

There are some ebay repair blokes who say they can repair the boot loop fault. Personally, every one I've had in to me has been scrap and couldn't be repaired. I even sent a couple away to Car Systems in Poland who are major repair specialists and they returned them as irrepairable.

Anyway, what software did you download and try to install? And what software is listed on the data plate on top of the unit?

Hi, cheers for the reply. I have now managed to upgrade my firmware after using the SWL CD I downloaded the 5238 from Josi and loaded it all in fine, my whole stereo seems to be fixed although I don't have maps anymore so I'm just looking for the VW maps DVD to load.

It was already running 5238 beforehand, so I suppose I just re-loaded it.
