Anyone with a 2.0 180 rocc tell me the real mpg? how much to fill the tank? Did an insurance quote today and the 2.0 came out cheaper than the 1.4 125

I drive a 2.0 TSI petrol. I'm getting an average of 38mpg and I don't do much motorway driving at all. I can easily get high 40s on the motorway and I have a heavy foot. Fill the tank is roughly £55 from the warning light depending on fuel prices. I've just brought mine after having a 1.6L petrol mk6 fiesta which I use to get 32mpg out of so I'm happy (should show how heavy my right foot is haha).

Is that MFD figures or self calculated? Miles per tank?

I drive a 2013 2.0 TSI (210PS) and I average 40mpg (according to the display). I don't do much motorway driving, but can get around 44mpg when I do. I found that the fuel economy improved after the first 10,000 miles or so from new. My driving style is quite economical though.

I also find £50-55 is about right to fill the tank.

Thanks for the reply guys, i didnt know that the 2.0 gave back such great MPG. I currently own a ford fiesta 1.2 96 plate, and i think im only getting about 29 MPG i think. I'm guessing cos its a much older engine. but for its either the 1.4 or 2.0.

I have a 2.0 TSi, stage 2

Average around 32mpg. Mix of m/way and A/B Roads. Drive like a grandad on a m/way (60-65mph) 40-42mpg

Average tank. Fuel light comes on at 300-320 miles

Jesus, my current average since owning the car (2.0 TSI also) is about 21 mpg, both calculated myself and the MFD.

Though my journeys are very short, do about 5k miles a year, only fill up the car on average every 3-4 weeks. Current week's average is about 27mpg so not too bad considering the usual haha.

I have a petrol 180. I'm getting somewhere between 35-40MPG from driving around town and motorway driving. Costs me around £50 to fill the tank.

I used to get 27 mpg out the R

It's the old 200ps model, newer ones are likely more efficient, and yes always fill it to the top.

I'd definitely go for the 2.0L over the 1.4. Unless you do a hell of a lot of miles the difference in fuel cost will be negligible.

If you want performance and economy have you looked at the dervs? I went for the tdi in the end, didn't see the point in the 180 petrol, about equal performance with far worse economy. Although again, unless you do enough miles, it will cost you more as the diesel is more expensive to buy, and then your DPF will go getting clogged up if you don't do long journeys regularly.

Wow that's impressive haha. Mines not even that low on the R!! But my old GT (2.0 TSI 200ps) I used to average 32 - 34. Not necessarily driving it economically nor driving it hard either.

I only do about 7000 miles a year, my worry is the insurance might shoot up next year, not sure how a 2.0 is cheaper than the 1.4 atm.
