Any Design Differences Between the 1.4 122 and 160?

Hi,
I'm looking for a 122 (for insurance and 160 engine problems), but I'm finding it difficult. Car salesmen don't know anything about the supercharged versions, and private sellers are often unsure too. I also don't fancy travelling to see a car that may be a 160. To help me, is there any design differences? Some people have said the 160 says 'TFSI' on the boot, whereas the 122 says 'TSI'. Which is false.
Any help appreciated.

The 160 twincharged has 2 Red letters on the boot badge (SI in TSI), where the 122 only has 1 red letter (I)

...for cars up to 2010. From 2011, the TSI badge on the 160s is all in red.

the 122 and 160hp engines use the same engine block, same crankshaft,same connection rods, same piston, same cylinder head but with different camshafts , same injectors, same fuel pump etc etc . The only differences are the different turbo (the 160 use bigger turbo) and the 160 have a mechanical supercharger .

Does the 122 have the chocolate Pistons or did they get rectified?

Someone on here said they came with different pistons, so they shouldn't have the same issue the 160 has.

it is the same engine, 160hp version has broken pistons due to compressor and wrong software !

The piston part numbers are actually different for the CAXA engine (122ps), they also come in two slightly different sizes for some reason too (according to ETKA).
Early 2009 models on the 160 CAVD engine did have piston ring problems which caused further premature failure - this was fixed later in 2009.
But yes the 160 also fails due to software issues - early knock sensor calibration (pre-detonation) & running too lean (overheating).
The higher output of the engine also meant other things became critical...
Wrong spark plug gaps (misfires), early injectors sprayed on the piston crown (piston scorching), too long a spark plug when they revised the injectors (misfires)
The 160 engine was like a ticking time bomb with all those things going against it - eventually they were pretty much all sorted out, only on remapping did you have to think about other issues (PCV, need for even shorter sparks etc)
