So I know that this topic has probably been covered many times before (sorry), but I really would appreciate any help to get my iPhone 5 paired with my Rocco. I have a 2009 2.0 Tdi GT (140) and I'm pretty sure it has a factory fitted telephone pairing system as I can search for my iPhone using the controls on the steering wheel. However it gives me an error message telling me that my device is not compatible. The box under my drivers seat is module number: 5N0 035 730 B and from what I gather from previous threads - this box only supports 'Rsap' phones which an iPhone is not??

Is there a new box that I can buy so that I can just disconnect the old one, plug in the new and it miraculously work? If so that would be amazing

Any part numbers or ebay advertisements would be greatly appreciated. I love my Rocco and just want it to pair with my phone  is this too much to ask??

Anyone know what you deal is on this as i have the same issue on a 60 plate 2.0 GT TSI model.

Has all the Steering Controls and Head unit but unable to connect via Bluetooth by usual method of pressing the phone symbol and or doesn't even show on the iPhone 6 as a device..

Cheers

Haz

The BT module fitted to older cars only supported rSAP whereas the later ones support HFP which is required for modern phones. Quite simply you need to replace the module under the driver's seat with one of the later ones or dump the IPhone and go back to an old Nokia :-)

I have tried this i'm afraid. I found 5N0 035 730 D on ebay and tried that, which is apparently the first one that works with Iphone L2DP. I unhooked everything and plugged the larger cable in only, as there was no connector for my second cable. I lost the function of "phone" on the MDF and obviously it didnt work.

Id love for someone to come up with a cheap fix for this. The only other option i've come across is the expensive option of a FISCON kit fitted which is £299 plus £100 fitting OR a genuine VW OEM kit installed which is also £299 with £120 fitting.

Question regarding these - once connected via bluetooth (obviously) does that stop the car from connecting VIA bluetooth too? As i'm sure that devices can only be connected to one Bluetooth device at a time?

**edit**

I only ask this because these don't seem to support phone capabilities
