Has anyone got a 170 TDi which has come out of the VW factory (i.e. not a re-mapped 140)?

Don't think anyone has these yet, the UK dealers definitely haven't got them as demonstrators yet - probably next month or July in the UK, at least a month before factory ordered models can expect to turn up.

If you need a feel for the engine, try getting a test drive in a 170TDi Audi TT, these have had the common-rail engine 170 for around 9 months now.

And expect a lot of wheel spin.

I had a 170ps Audi A4 and it was a pig to get the power down from a stand still.

Wheelspin for me too in the 170 GT Sport Golf I had previously. Wet or dry, you couldn't get a clean getaway with more than about 1/3 throttle (very dicey trying to take advantage of a gap on a busy roundabout). Even once moving, floor it in 2nd at 20mph and the violent wheelspin felt like you were driving over a spilt pallet of bricks in the road.

I've ordered a 170, I ordered it Week 21 and have a build week of 28 - hoping to get it end July/early August.

Coincidentally my brother has just taken delivery of an A5 170 - he took me out in it today, and it went very nicely. Gonna be good in the lighter rocco.

@Davey - how long from order to delivery did you hav to wait for your 170?
