no matter how hard I drive my rocco the revs never go above 2500, don't get me wrong its still very nippy, I'm just wondering if there may be something wrong, also I have i kind of have to press on the accelerator quite far to get anything then you get a sudden surge of power, (as if theres only a few mm play) its fun but is this is how they are supposed to be? it catches me off guard sometimes and I don't add enough power or too much and it will stall this is generally when I have been at speed then quickly drop gear and accelerate again, does any of that makes sense ? apologies had the car 4 weeks and had an astra 1.9 sri prior which drives completely different, rocco is by far better, maybe I just need to get used to it.
any advice would be gratefully appreciated, apologies if it makes no sense I don't know how to explain it properly.

Is there anything else it does? Any noises etc? Any fault codes?
Could be any number things from blocked exhaust to faulty turbo or dead maf sensor. It should definitely Rev past 2500. You say it still goes fast so assume it isn't in limp mode?
First step is to get a code reader on it.

Get it shut off, it's no good for your engine.
