Hi all, recently got my rocco gt and seeing as my last car was a 260bhp tt I was thinking about remaps.
What I'm most concerned about is will there be any soot /smoke coming out the back?...what about dpf removal? are there any benefits for this that I will notice?..what new power should I expect?
Cheers for any help. ..

None as far as I'm concerned so far.
Only issue I could see would be the clutch wearing out quicker due to the shit loads of torque.
Mine is remapped by revo.
No black smoke. Mpg is about the same but mostly depends how I drive it. More responsive and more torque. .
Mine is a 170 and revo say it should be about 205-208.

Is it under warranty? If so, a remap will void it.
I was going to look into this, I hear a company called DTUK do plug in boxes which can just be taken off before visits to the dealer, a quick google showed a thread on a SEAT forum with good reviews. No idea on the differences or how they work though which is what I was going to look in to.
If it's out of warranty revo seems to be the way to go without doubt.

The warranty has run out so that is not an issue..as long as it remains smokeless then it looks like it could be a goer...think I need to speak to jody at midland vw and see what he says...Cheers guys!

If your car is affected by the VW defeat device it may not be worth remapped until your car have been through the recall, as VW could potentially update your ECU or replace it all together. There could also be other changes that may effect your mapping as VW have been very vague on how this fix will be implemented.

Will any recalls be compulsory or voluntary?

Not 100% sure but if you don't take it in there may be repercussions with insurance and resale value etc.

It's not safety related so it'll be voluntary from the owners perspective however it might be compulsory for VW to do it to the car if it enters it's franchise network.
