HR Lowering springs

Post by Lumiya »

Hi guys, I'm currently thinking of lowering my 2011 2.0 tsi dsg Scirocco. The problem I currently find myself with is that there appears to be two different versions of the lowering springs for this model - 1020kg and 1021kg. I checked the inside passengers side door for the info, mine seems to read 1 1040kg and 2 0770kg - this has confused me as the first row of digits are 20kg over the specified weight limit of both lowering springs that HR supply for this vehicle. Would appreciate someone who has gone with these lowering springs to enlighten me further as to what type I need to go with.

if the max load is lower what you will find is that the ride maybe a little softer and less controlled esp as you will be quite heavy up front with DSG, and add in 2 adults and you front axle weight will be getting close to the limit.

The best thing to do is speak to H&R and see if they do higher rated springs, its worth it in the long run (On past cars I have struggled to sometimes find ones high enough as most cover hatch backs not the TDI estates).

If you re-read the descriptions on the spring again carefully you will see one set is for upto 1020kg and the other set is from 1021kg and above.

Thanks for heads up, indeed after revisiting the site I did notice the error I had previously made.
