Colour Choice - Ultra Violet?

I know this topic must have been done to death but having just ordered my new Scirocco R Line 2.0 TSI yesterday I'm still a bit anxious about my colour choice - Ultra Violet.

Maybe it is because of the name, but I just want to check what the general consensus is for this colour. Have you seen it actually on a car in the flesh? I saw it on a Scirocco in the showroom and thought it looked fantastic but do you think this is only a girls colour?
Will this effect my resale value?
It was either Ultra Violet or the red for me. Black looks great when clean but shows the scratches too much.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated while I still have time to change it!

No need to worry, it is stunning in the flesh and suits the Scirocco.

I've ordered flash red myself but have spotted one ultra Violet roc on the road and thought it was a good colour. As for being a girls colour, no chance! :shake:

No problem with UV. I've seen them on the road and in showrooms and it is very nice indeed. It's one of those colours that just works. Being rare it's quite individualistic without being shocking (sorry Viper Green owners!) and has quite a classy look that suits the Rocco very well. I'd have one.

ultraviolet is lush, especially with black alloys

UV was one of my colour choices for my new build R-Line which I ordered this month.

It was a choice between UV and Indium Grey.

Having seen both in the flesh at my local dealer, I went with Indium Grey.

UV is unique, not many out on the roads, it's a good colour choice.

I've just thought of something... You said it was between ultra violet and red on the R Line model. Red isn't available for the R Line?

The dealer never mentioned I couldn't have red on the R Line when we were discussing colours! Mind you I seemed to know far more about Scirocco's than he did so it's no surprise. Anyway thanks I feel reassured about UV.

I've seen one on the road and it certainly stood out. Girl I work with came in one day asking if Sciroccos come in bright purple as she had just seen one and really liked it too. It's a good colour but I'd be worried it would age the car like the orange Focus STs. Looked great when new but very quickly looked dated.

Paddy that is a very valid point!!
I think I should change it to Indium Grey! I've not seen one recently in the flesh in this colour but it looks very classy in photos

It does look good with the black wheels but that look isn't me.
I'm now thinking the grey or change my order to a GT and have it in red with the optional Lisbon wheels which I think are the nicest wheels they offer on the Scirocco

There is nothing wrong with UV. You could say it is a 'fashion' colour rather than a colour like black, blue, grey or silver. My advice is do what you are comfortable with. If you have any doubts, change it while you still can. I did this years ago with a BMW (white to black) and did not regret it.

A similar colour, named also Ultra Violet, is one of the few colour options available for the current GT3 RS :D

Over the old salsa red yes, definitely. But the new flash red colour is much more striking, brighter, vibrant and suits the car perfectly in my opinion. Plus, a scirocco in flash red is a very rare sight on the road, as it has only been offered since last year and is only available in 2 of the 4 Scirocco models.

Spoke to the dealer who is pushing for a final decision today!! He said if I buy the GT and spec it up to the R Line level (which I would have done) I'd be unlikely at resale to achieve the same amount as for the R - Line even though they would have cost me the same as they used value for all the extras is very limited.
So I'm going with my gut and changing to the Metallic Grey but keeping the R Line and spec already chosen.

I want to be brave and go for the UV but too much money is at stake and I'd be gutted if after a year I decided I'd made a mistake.
I'm very disappointed I can't get a red one as an R-Line though as this would be my first choice. The colour options for the R-line are crap and very limited.
