When will the new Golf GTI style multifunction steering wheel become standard on the Scirocco GT?
instead of the ugly out of date steering wheel we have at the moment which is straight out of a MKV golf!

Haven't ordered my Scirocco yet and the dealer doesnt know :S
Does anyone know when VW will start fitting these as standard on scirocco GTs?

Cheers

As far as I know the wheel your talking about is standard on 2010 model scirocco's. And I think any car built from week 22 on is a 2010 model car, and as its week 23 now, I would assume anything built now will have this.

Hope this helps, alan

Has anyone looked into getting a price for a Mk6 Golf steering wheel and getting it fitted by the dealer?

I assume the steering wheel being put on 2010 sciroccos will have a removable bottom part to swap out the GTI logo as many have done with the blank(for the GT)one on the Roc.

All the buttons seem exactly the same so unless the codes are completely different I would assume that only a ridiculous VW price will deter 08/09 Roc owners from modding it to a 2010 spec.

Think this is right, I'm sure if you ordered your car now if it has to be built (not one that is in stock somewhere) you would receive a car with the new steering wheel..

£1200 for a newer wheel? I really wouldn't lose sleep having the one I have. If you've factory ordered and it hasn't come yet then you'll be getting the new wheel.

I wasn't fussed on the new wheel when I saw it on a MK6 Golf GTI when I was picking up the new Roc 10 days ago. It looks slightly more modern, but a little cheaper also. The surrounds for the multifunction buttons looked a lottle better, but the centre of the wheel looked a little cheap. Even if I preferred it, there is no way i'd pay £1200 to have one, for what is probably coppers difference in price as a part between the old and new one.

Hello

I am the one who posted the prices for the new 2010 steering wheel,
here they are for the folks on here

£362+vat for the multifunction steering wheel (it's extra if you want red stitching off a gti)
£465+vat for the airbag unit
you may need an airbag cover
also 1 to 2 hours labour for a dealer to fit it,

hope this helps :eyepop:

correct,
as Candy Monster said, comes with the stitching in black and without the "GTI" letters (those are from the golf gti)
