The wait is over

I picked my new car up today and the big stupid grin on my face won't go away.

It was prepared brilliantly by the dealer and all the extras i asked for are all fitted ( Door Sills, Aluminium Pedals, and a full set of mats which turned up yesterday) and it looked stunning on the forecourt waiting for me..It's been drawing admiring glances all day. even had one guy slam his brakes on and reverse back up the street for another look !!

If anyone has opted for the Dynaudio prepare to be impressed it will make your ears bleed...

Hi Ho Silver130

Congratulations - it great to hear peoples initial thoughts when they get their car. Particularly interested to see your comments about Dynaudio - the salesman said it was impressive but I didn't really believe him - but on the basis that I wanted to get the best package I didn't think the cost of Dynaudio was too much of a risk - the trouble is when you have a system with it fitted then there is nothing to compare it with - I'll have to find someone who has a car without I guess!

Hope you enjoy your car for a long time to come!

Thanks for all the comments guys.
The Dynaudio is excellent. very crisp sharp sound. Bass will make your flared trousers flap if you give it the beans.
Can't compare to standard speaker system as i didn't want to appear a t*t in the showroom and give it some wellie.
I had a Bose system in my A3 and i thought that was a decent system this knocks it into a cocked hat..
For all that have ordered the Dynaudio upgrade.. Sit back and ENJOY

It will be interesting to hear what others think of the Dynaudio system. When you get your cars make sure you post your thoughts..

I'm sure the Dynaudio adds more uummph to the sound like all top of the range sound systems, I didn’t get Dynaudio but I have to say I don't see any fault in the standard ones, I had some 192kbps MP3's and they sounded superb!

The Dynaudio system will undoubtedly handle sounds with more bass at much higher volumes a lot better than the standard ones, not to mention it will be a different experience entirely.

Dynaudio is worth it, but if you didn't shell out the extra £385 then you'll still be happy trust me, look at my face ... > :D

Good to hear your comments. I thought the standard speakers would be good as the head unit is a quality item. Every new generation of cars seems to move the game on so much these days.

Yeah I'm into good quality sounds etc and can tell whats decent and whats poor.

I've not tested the limit of the speakers and I'm not going to, but I know they won't compare to the Dynaudio, but yeah man I had Dynaudio on my original spec, but with the Xenons thing I settled for this car, got it in 2 weeks instead of April 09!

It had already been made and was awaiting shipping when I bought it therefore I got what it came with... retro fitted the Cruise, Pedals, Door Sills, if you could do Dynaudio I would have probably retro fitted that too!

i think the sound quality of the standard set up is poor. Very muddy sound, that cant be completely corrected with the settings. unfortunately i have a keen ear for things like that having studied studio engineering and done many ice installs. Its liveable with, just not great by any means, wish id gone dynaudio now!

Give it a few months and the after market ICE peeps will have some fiendish retro fit systems available as a custom fit for the Scirocco..

I'm glad I don't feel the same way otherwise I'd want to spend more money changing it somehow.

On a lighter note I keep forgetting the Steering controls, my Golf didn't have them but had the same style wheel and as a habit I keep using the console to adjust the volume, curse everytime I do it!

i cant work out if its the speakers or the radio that is producing the muddy sound. other forums regarding the stereo from other VWs such as the tiguan all say that the radio is the key to producing a better sound, however i tend to disagree as otherwise people with dynaudio setups would have a similar problem. Maybe in a few months i will see about changing the speakers

I have the dynaudio in mine and it was well worth the money. Strong bass excellent midrange and crisp clear quality sound even makes some dodgy 80's tracks sound good

dynaudio is superb and finally getting to grips wth stereo controls, the difference between dab and fm this morning for radio 1 was very noticable but missing the TIM function and station availability is regional depandant
