Hi guys,

I think I may be finally getting somewhere with the rough running. I've tried plugs and coil packs. I had the fuel filter replaced and it ran fine for a week, then the car decided to lose all power for a few seconds under heavy acceleration. I have only been able to replicate this fault when the tank is low on fuel... Roughly 80 miles left... Soon as you fill the car up its fine. . Since this new issue has become apparent so has the rough running under light acceleration.

Anyone had this issue before and can point me in the right direction?

Maybe the liftpump in the tank is the problem or debris in your gastank what clogged up the suctionfilter of the tank liftpump. Measuring the fuelpressure with vcds is a good idea to sort it out.
Have you scanned for any fault codes with vcds? Make a driving log with rpm and requested fuel pressure and actual fuelpressure to get some more information.

Thanks for a quick reply. I have a vcds lead but I havent scanned yet. Is this real time log easy to set up? When you say lift pump is this the low pressure fuel pump in the tank?

Yes i mean the liftpump in the tank low pressure.First scan your car it can help to indicate the problem.
A driving log Isn't difficult. You can select the parameters in engine and then adv measuring values. Then you can start to log data. Then start driving with your almost empty tank. Just Floor the gas pedal and let it shift trough the gears. Then stop logging and the data can be transfered to excel. Then you can analyse it.
But first scan for faults.
