4Month Old Roc GT Crashed

A sad story here, my 4 month old Roc was driven into by someone jumping a give way across two lane traffic, I was on the inside lane with a truck on the outside obscuring the other drivers view of my lane, subsequently he came right into my off side front corner as he tried to dart across the two lanes , thankfully I had just turned onto the dual carriageway.
Thankfully there where no really serious injuries, although the other party was cut out as a precaution.
My car has been recovered to a local garage for inspection, to assess if its a write off or not.
If anyone with any kind of knowledge on here has any thoughts if this will be repaired or not I would be grateful.
It mostly looks like bodywork, although there appears to be a crease in the near side wing where the impact has rippled through.
Also straight after the impact my car was still trying to drive, I slipped it into Neutral (DSG) and this made no difference, I then had some blue smoke bellow from the bonnet and a few bangs and knocks and she died I am guessing that means Engine or gearbox damage and if so do you think she will be written.

If it was me I'd hope it was written off rather than repaired and then get a new replacement (if that's what your insurance provides - which most do).

I had a similar smash in a 3 month old Merc C220 Sport Edition in 2005 and was told with such a new car it would only be written off by insurance if repairs were more than 50% of original value. It was £25k new and repairs were £12k so ended up being repaired by merc dealer but was never the same again in my opinion

Thanks for the support guys, really devastated about it, part of me hopes they write it I will always know it's been repaired it will loose that whole new car feeling.
It's still not been recovered to the repair centre so no further news yet.
Although I have been delivered a Mercedes E250 AMG so some balance has been restored, although it's not like the Roc would much rather have mine the merc is a bit vague to drive.

Well it looks like she is going to be written off, costs are at around 50% before they have even looked at the engine.
Annoyingly the recovery company have caused more damage than happened at the accident, the right headlight and lower skirt is smashed there was no damage there I am not sure what to do about that they need to be accountable, also all my personal effects have been stripped out of it and not delivered with the car, it seems if they have been lifted the garage has had no notification of them.

Thanks again for the support guys, no news on my personal effects it seems the recovery and delivery companies are denying any responsibility, I am beginning to think it's all lost its just insult to injury.
Just had notification today, she has been written off. I am thankful, I didnt want her back after that degree of damage.
The good news is I get a brand new car as a replacement because my Roc is under 6 months old, seems some clouds have a silver lining

Sorry to hear about your car.
Personally though I'd rather not have a car back that's been in a bump. I'd never really fully trust it again knowing that so I think you've got the best outcome of a horrific situation. Hope you get your new one soon!

I agree, the assessment came back that both chassis legs are bent, the offside is crushed and the nearside is bent, the impact has bent the whole front of my car to the left.
It would never have driven the same again, writing it off was definitely the best result I could hope for.
Waiting for a call next week to get my new one ordered, just hoping they can provide the same spec with upgraded audio , sat nav and camera. Maybe even a different colour if it's possible , fancy the viper green

Finally it's all over, the other party has admitted full liability after contesting it (muppet).
Still no news on my personal effects, not sure if I can name and shame here, but that is one untrustworthy recovery company and they have a police contract, thieving @?#?@.
Now just got to wait for a spanking new rocco, up to 12 weeks, far too long so trying to source a slightly different spec.

Well it's still ongoing, my car has had to be a factory order and it will be 5 months from the accident until I get a new car. (Crazy)
My build date is the 14th of this month, hopefully not too long now.
I do get the new discover sat nav which is a bonus, does anybody know if apple car play can be retrofit?
