Spare Tyre Pressure

Ok.
Had a front puncture so have put the space saver spare on for now. Getting repaired.

The outside of the tyre states Inflate to 60psi
But the book says for a spare inflate to the max psi rated on the fuel cap. Which is 39psi for front 45psi rear.

Which one...?

Thanks

Does the fuel cap specifically say space saver pressure? I suspect the reference to the spare in the manual is for a full size spare but if so 45psi seems high for a full size spare.

The space saver is very thin so has a much smaller square inch on the road. To get the same load bearing you need a much higher pressure to take the same load. The pressure is in psi, pounds per square inch, so for the same load (pounds) you need more psi as there's less square inches.

If the spare says 60 psi you should use 60 psi.

Cheers guys.
I am using 60psi just wanted to double check.
Shame a full size spare won't fit in the Rocco.
Stupid space saver is tiny the whole car leans loads to that wheel
