Hey guys.

Whilst driving up to Durham the other day taking the newborn up to meet his great grandma, something fell from a bridge/walkway and bounced off the roof of my viper green rocco, it's made a little stonechip.

Do the stonechip pens work? It won't polish out, so the plan is to stonechip pen, then get the machine polisher over it to try and rectify, does this sound like it will work?

I used this with my bumper stone chips, paint matched, had brush and cocktail stick style applicators (for proper stone chips) as well as a pot of lacquer . Was quite cheap and a lot cheaper than halfrauds or main dealer

I've never tried doing stone chips mysel Greg so what is the process you follow?

My brother did his years ago with a little brush that came with it and made a right bad job of it. I saw someone who filled and airbrushed his which looks perfect but it was well above my capability. I would be interested in seeing before and after pics if you do it Chris. Good luck.

The kit comes with a little wet and dry sandpaper, some cocktail stick applicators (so u don't have to use the brush) the idea is a little bit of paint on the tip of the applicator slowly build up and fill the chip, then lacquer once hardened - in reality some wet and dry sanding to get the surface even and polishing is required. For £6 even if you just take the paint to a professional and let them do it, it's still a bargain.

there's a kit made by a company called chipex, which is meant to be pretty good, a few people have used it on here and said it's great. I'm also in the same boat but with my bonnet, so would love to here what use to get it out.

Chipex is spot on! I've got it myself, it does however take a few goes at getting it right. once mastered though is brilliant.

Is that with the finger dabbing technique rob? I had a look, and that part made me quite sceptical about the whole thing

Yes that's the one, it's the rubbing solution that takes the getting used to, too hard and you rub all the paint out the chip and you have to start again!
